Indoor Hockey 2026 - Expression of Interest

New

Indoor hockey runs over summer, starting as the outdoor season finishes, and South Brisbane Indoor Hockey Association (the Vipers) have set spots aside for Bulimba juniors.

It is played at FR Caterson Park, Mansfield, and the season is short - about eight or nine weeks. Five on court plus a goalkeeper, two short halves, on a hard court with boards down the sides so the ball never goes out. You cannot hit the ball and you cannot lift it except to shoot, so it is all close-in passing, which is exactly what sharpens a player up for turf.

WHAT IS AVAILABLE

Under 12s, a team of our own. Saturday afternoons, half court. One team is being held for Bulimba and it can be mixed, so girls and boys play together. We need around nine players to fill it.

New players, come and try. Two sessions in the school holidays, run in two age groups, Under 10 and Under 14. Friday 25 September 1.00pm to 4.30pm, and Friday 2 October 1.00pm to 2.45pm.

Boys B grade, a few spots. Sundays, full court. The Vipers already have half a side and need a couple more players.

Under 15s, three spots plus a goalkeeper. Sundays, in a combined team with players from other clubs.

BEFORE YOU SAY YES TO THE SUNDAY TEAMS

The boys who fill those last B grade spots will be playing very early on Sunday mornings, around 7.10am and 7.50am. That is the honest version, and it is better to know now than in October. The Saturday Under 12s and the come-and-try sessions are at civilised hours.

PLAY ON VOUCHERS

The Vipers are a registered Queensland Government Play ON provider, so a $200 voucher can go towards indoor. But a voucher can only be used with one provider, once per round, so if you have already put yours towards your Bulls registration this year it is spent.

HOW THIS WORKS

This is an expression of interest, not a registration, and there is nothing to pay here.

Please note: when you reach the box asking for a brief history of the player's experience, tell us WHICH of the options above you are interested in. That is the part we need.

Places fill in the order they come in, so please get in early. We need to know by Wednesday 2 September, because anything we cannot fill goes back to another club.

Questions - Matt Taylor, Junior Coordinator.

U18s & Juniors Trophy Day - Saturday 5 September

trophy-day- 2026-poster

Saturday 5 September, 1.00pm to 5.00pm at the clubhouse.

Trophy Day is the afternoon we celebrate every junior Bull. Team and club awards and trophies, the barbecue, the bar, ice creams and slushies, and an international guest musician playing live on the deck.

TICKETS - Under 9s $7, 9 to 17 year olds $11, adults $13. Every ticket covers the barbecue, drinks and ice creams. Book on this website under U18s/Junior Trophy Day.

VOLUNTEERS - We still need helpers for set up, food prep, the bar, serving and pack down. Every job is a short shift rather than the whole afternoon, so you will still see every award handed out. Scan the QR code on the poster above, or go to volunteersignup.org/P8RJK - no account needed and it takes about a minute. Sign-ups close Tuesday 1 September.

Vale Roy Hogan

It is with sadness that we note the passing of Roy Hogan, a member of the Bulls family and the last remaining player from the first Bulls' men's A-Grade side in 1954.

On behalf of Roy's family please find below details of the funeral service being held for Roy.
