2022 Development Opportunities

BWHA Player Nomenclature

The BWHA Player Nomenclature was designed to provide an overview on the variety of players our Association has, and the development opportunities they may take advantage of throughout their playing career.
The nomenclature is not designed to be prescriptive – players can and will fall across multiple categories throughout each age group.
The development and representative opportunities listed in each category and age, is designed to guide players on which clinics they may wish take advantage of to develop their skills.
Unless specified by an age-requirement or eligibility criteria, most development opportunities are open to all members.

Hockey Education and Reaccreditation update

From: Sue McLatchey <smclatchey@hockeyqld.com.au>
Sent: Tuesday, 19 January 2021 10:08 AM

Dear Presidents, Secretaries/Administrators, Coaching Representatives & HQ Committee Chairs

All HockeyEd renewals that fell due in 2020 have been extended by 12 months, making the accreditation period for these specific people a 5 year accreditation time frame (not 4 years).

This decision was made last year and was promoted in The Hook in the November edition:

https://www.hockey.org.au/news/hockeyed-reaccreditation-date-rollover/

After HA consulted with the firm that maintains HockeyEd (Moodle), there were only two available options, based on the system’s limitations:

  1. Alter the completion date of the current accreditation by 12 months
  2. Extend the accreditation period from 4 years to 5 years.

Option 1 would have reset the course completion date, providing an inaccurate account of the participants accreditation journey. Therefore, HA determined extending the accreditation period from 4 years to 5 years was the best option.

Thank you for sharing this email with all Clubs and volunteers.
